Dear Friends and Colleagues,

The Zika virus and its purported link with brain deformaties is being reviewed in light of epidemiological evidence.  Babies with birth defects appear to be concentrated in certain regions in Brazil and there is a view that other factors are implicated.  While Zika infection is reported in other countries in South America, there appears to be no pattern of birth defects.
